Viagem interminavel/ Never ending journey
Sceneries are changed, faces are navigated, miles are fulfilled, you always travel, never a journey shall be finished while the air belongs to the lungs and the experience is part of me. We've arrived to Portugal and I will not account for a finished journey, as there is no such thing. To the previous period you've added memories, stories, immortal regists. This period is finished, and it's left for me to think of those who are going there, that continue there, that remember it, and I assume this implicit explicit envy. It tasted good, it tasted to little, everything tasting good does. Carry on with your virtual journey with our new friends Enrique e Patricia on their leaping journey through that set, and enjoy, as they will, the journey: 2canguros. Our carries on, in different sceneries. The video record for this one implies a lot of work, but we shall publish it as soon as possible right here.

ultimos cartuchos/last rounds

The last day of this day has arrived... I wonder why journey's last days always bring a kind of bitterness with them, there's always that small kind of anxiety from returning, and from what's left behind, a hidden fear of not coming back to see all this. Yesterday we made our last travel to unknown territory, once more we've been received by Luis these last two evenings that with his warmth and patience filled us with walkings through the national park... with some pranks in between (to see on future video episodes). We've seen falls with familiar names, abandoned farms full of utensiles for our total fun, and we've still encountered a group of tazzies that were kind enough to show us their colection car babies.

O pos Ocean Road

After the enormity of that road, we're making the road back to East, trough the interior, we visit the true countryside and we encounter the most interessting things: From dead cattle on the road, to acenstral volcano sites, to the inexpected portuguese presence.

The Great Ocean Road

The living memorial to the I World War lost victorians soldiers, a road of hundreds of km carved on the hills of the south, immagine yourself in the portuguese marginal, take out the buildings, the traffic, and two lanes, add some hillside on your right topping you... lose your self on the serpent like road, make yourself towards an invisible goal in the end of every curve... symbol of the journey's last rounds, the true Long and Winding road. Accompanied by Luis, we are now exploring the last few km of the continent with the best views.

novo objectio/new goal

For some reason, we've seem to get half the trip only now, even tough we only have 6 more days out of the first 28. After we reached Airlie beach it's time to go back to Melbourne, we've decided that it was mandatory to travel trough the Great Ocean Road, south, from Melbourne westbound. To leave each village starts to leave me the first sorrows, I'd like to stay with everyone of those people, to experience every journeys with them, to have time for them, to know them laugh with them or even to fight them. On a real trip, we'd have a wallet where we kept each and everyone, and we could use it for each time we missed them, and in each place we'd be able to share smiles and looks... it's almost over...

Pelo ar e mar/ By Sea and Air
Yesterday we went to do the unconfortable, to sail on air over sea... hehe... truth is, we went on a daytrip to try some snorkeling and to visit a white imaculate sandy beach... the sea was bigh, the waves, tall, a considerable wind of 20 to 25 kts, but otherwise excelent conditions, very funny skipper.

As primeiras imagens/The first pictures
Here it is, we're able to find some good prices for a (obvious :D) scenic flight over the Whitesundays Islands
Airlie Beach
Chegamos!
We've arrived! The journey's main goal is acomplished, to arrive near the Great Barrier, Joao's huge effort brought us on a leap to this village. Now, and after we arranged plans for the last days we plan as follow, considering local tropical weather (rain, heat and humidity):
- aproveitar pelo menos uma tour de helicoptero por aqui conseguir boas imagens;
- Conseguir fazer a Great Ocean Road para Este

- to enjoy at least an helicopter tour and record nice aerial views

- It would be nice to practice snorkeling in one of the islands, but with this weather it's complicated
- Return to brisbane and catch a plane back to Melbourne

Surfer's Nightmare
"gostaste disto?"
"nao e tu?"
"tambem nao, vamos seguir?"
"bora"
It's these days that make journeys, after an excelent goodbye from Byron Bay, we left today towards Surfer's Paradise, it would be one more place of party, relaxation and beach, to stay tonight, but there is few words to describe my first big disapointment in this country. Little helped us today, raining grey day for starters. The Paradise arrival, huge buildings out of shape.Lots of people, fewer smiles, we've crossed the streets in a analitical silence, in the truck on look:
"did you like this?"
"not really, you"
"neither, let's move?"
"lets go"
On the trip towards Brisbane I was distracted by this seemingless noise. We ended up awakened by this loud vibrative noise from the blown up tyre... on desperate phonecalls, because nothing seems to work after the morning becomes afternoon, we got a AAA mechanic to help us... we came a few hours later to get in Brisbane, and there's not much niceness awaiting Juicy people tomorrow.
PS: To bitaites Master, any last minute efective advices on blown up tyres

O Escavar / The Digging

Pois e... =)
Well...I think there's not to much to say, because the photo says it all!!! But in my defense, I have to say that my co pilot (Antonio) did not help at all!!! (or did he, maybe it was the driver, upsss) These are the result of the tracks he tells me to do... You probably want to know, it was only 2 hours digging, with woods, tyres half empty and nothing more but the help of an aussie that showed up later and help us push it out ( he didn't have a choice, because if we wanted to go through to fish we really had to get out of there)!!! =)

Me and Joao are starting to know each other for the first time in 15 or 16 years, the infinite journey hours results in this... more and more i belkiev that the journey witouth human influence it's not.
John insists that I explain you all so, from the bottom down:
- the trust in the gps leads us to a wayless road
- an apparently abandoned church in the road
- A lunch made somwhere on the road, cooked by a filipine lady, the biggest hamburgers we've ever eat
O meu destino/My destination

Byron Bay finalmente, o meu unico e verdadeiro destino.
- "g'day"
- Thanks mate g'day to you
- No worries mate
-... e uma conversa comeca
Byron Bay finnaly, my own true destiny. The old and small surfer's vllage became cosmopolitan, big and turistic. With a unique sunset light, that makes any human figure come out. We've seen so many gorgeous beaches, enough to make the stnes smile, but I think that the huiman induction of relaxation and freedom on this scenery, beats everyone. We all wear tunics, we al enthusiasticly show the peace sign, we all greet when we cross:
- "g'day"
- Thanks mate g'day to you
- No worries mate
-... and a conversation starts

Yeaaahhhh... After a friend's challenge (that told me that I wouldn't have the courage to enter one of the Australia's most dangerous surfing spots:Shark Island) here it is a photo after I left the water (the filming is reserved for later proofing)!!! A thanking note to the 2 passing through aussies, that told me the exact spot and kept me company!!To bad it wasn't that big, but it was worth it the water barrels, the warm water and their sympaty!!!

o Este a Nordeste

The way keeps heading East, the East becomes Northeast and we are hoping for the journey's North. We have reencoutered a spanish couple that we met on a rain forrest (yes this term is quite a vulgar one in this continent) and that are making a similar route to ours, and the "the nuestra hermandad" has proven waterproof, we've crossed some short km together, Enrique, Patricia and Maria, great people, with a certainty of a good plan, and the objectivity of an european... We've stayed together in Malacoota, a land wich was touched by a flood from the rainy days from the week before, one that brought us the joy from the fisherman's saint...after one night on a desolated place near a vil slope sea, and accompanied by this great runm advized by Enrique, we went to the village and we rented a small motorboat. I felt this unimaginable feeling when Enrique gave me the responsability of the captaincy of that "ship", and after revolving the river we finnaly diuscovered the perfect location for fishing, the absence of the other fishermen onc in the spot has permitted us a unimaginable mitical fishing, for each time we bathe the bait someone would get something, from the smaller to the biggest ones (at least in my head), the fishing soon became just a competition for the biggest fish of all... I won :p At lunch I felt for the first time the joy of eating something you fish, it just gains one new and refreshed flavour. This afternoon has becme on of the most tiresom for me, the huindreds of km are just a leap here. We are at Durras, immagine a full camping ground, now transform all those people in curious kangaroos, subtract a few humans just to give a bit of a normal look, and here we are now
